Information about upcoming ONOS community elections

February 9, 2017

Dear ONOS Community Members,

It is that time of year when we do voting for ONOS positions. If you want to vote in elections, you need to make sure your name is on the community voting list. You can review the list here. This year we are expanding the list of people who can vote (new in italics).

This still will not cover everyone who has made a contribution to ONOS. If you have contributed to ONOS and your name is not on the list, please send an email to Bill at bill@onlab.us to let him know you would like to vote and to describe the contributions you have made.

Here is a summary of what will happen during the ONOS elections:

As we move forward we want to continue to increase the TST diversity and make sure we have a good mix of representation. With the last election, we added one new company (Huawei) and it is our hope that we can add at least one more, if not two in this election. As you nominate and vote for members, please keep this in mind.

Full details on the election process can be found on the wiki.

We are now taking nominations for the following positions:

You can nominate anyone, including yourself. (Note, to be a TST member requires active code contribution during the last year.) To make a nomination, please send a short note describing why you think the person is a good candidate to bill@onlab.us. After receiving a nomination, we check with the nominee to make sure they want to be nominated. If so, we then ask them to fill out a statement about why they feel they would be a good candidate for the position. Those candidate statements will be available for review when the voting is opened.

Important Dates:

Nominations accepted: 21 February 2017 through 12 March 2017

Voting: 13 March 2017 through 31 March 2017

This blog will be updated with more details and dates as the voting process continues.

Please make sure you are on the voting list!
